Britain's biggest Wetherspoon's opens it's doors
The UK's biggest Wetherspoons has just opened and people are going batshit.
The budget pub chain took over the huge Royal Victoria Pavilion in Ramsgate, Kent after it had been derelict for the past decade so I guess that's a good thing. Do we really need more Wetherspoon's though? I mean lets face it, it's a bit of a chavs den isn't it? I suppose even the chavs need a local boozer, and with a pint of beer costing a measly £2.25 at least it will keep the riff raff away from the independent pubs.
The £4.5million monster pub consists of two floors, two huge bars, a massive garden, a first floor roof terrace and a 6,500 square foot sun terrace. It has over 500 tables and is said to be the largest pub in Europe.
I think I'll stick with my little independent pubs. A giant Wetherspoon's just fills me with utter dread.
