Greggs now have bouncers because people keep stealing the sausage rolls
I don't mind a Greggs every now and then if there's literally nothing else to eat but I just don't get all the hype it receives. I'm clearly in the minority here though because Greggs is so darn popular that they have had to hire bouncers. Yup, you read that right. The cheapest bakery in the land has had to rope in a security team because people can't stop stealing the sausage rolls.
The recent introduction of bouncers might also have something to do with the fact that many Greggs stores are now open late so you can probably imagine to kind of drunk assholes you'd get strolling into Greggs off their nut after a night on the sauce. Apparently, there are often fights breaking out in Greggs late at night, with one worker from Bermondsey saying:
Every weekend, there is usually a fight. It’s a very small store so people try and steal things and we’ve even had people try and smash the glass.Speaking for myself, I’m really glad that the bouncers are here to protect myself and staff.
Jeez. What sort of cretin tries to smash up a Greggs store?! Scummy bastards! I think I'll just stick to my chips and garlic mayo after a night out!
