Fyre Festival’s Billy McFarland kicked out of luxury prison & put in solitary confinement
It seems like ages since the documentary was released about the shit-show that was Fyre Festival. It was such an outrageous con that the festival’s organiser, Billy McFarland landed himself in the clink for defrauding investors of $27.4 million.
After being found guilty, McFarland was sentenced to six years in the Federal Correctional Institution at Otisville, which is known as one of the plushest prisons in America. Damn, the rich don’t even get banged up like regular folk. Instead they get to serve their time in luxury where the food is good and the gym equipment is top notch. However, it’s still prison, and there are rules, including having any form of electronic device, which McFarland broke last week. It’s a pretty huge offence in Otisville if you’re caught and McFarland was dished the most severe punishment there is - being kicked out of his swanky cell which is more like a hotel room and thrown into a tiny cell with a sink and a toilet and no sunlight. He now has to spend 23 hours in solitary with only one hour outside to stretch his legs. HAHA
You may think it’s a bit of a harsh punishment considering he was only hiding a phone but this guy is a grade-A prick who stole millions so he deserves everything he gets. I wonder what he was doing on his phone though?! He better not have been selling dodgy tickets again.
Apparently he’s also been writing an autobiography whilst inside called ‘Promythtyus: The God of Fyre’, which details how as an eight-year-old, he discovered a passion for technology and viral marketing. He also plans to dish some dirt on celebs like Jay Z, Donald Trump Jr, Dave Chapelle and Kris Jenner. Yikes. Donald Trump is unsurprising but I wonder what mucky things the others have been up to. I’d say it’d be a good read but I don’t want to line that cunts pocket by purchasing his book so I’ll wait until it’s plastered all over the tabloids.
