Nicolas Cage's new movie 'Primal' sees him fighting wild animals on a ship!
Nicolas Cage might not be churning out the epic blockbusters he used to in his younger days but he’s still turning up in three or more films a year, and some of which actually look pretty decent, like the trailer for his latest movie, Primal. Before you write it off as being yet another one of Nic’s terrible films, people have been comparing Primal to Con Air crossed with Snakes on a Plane so if that doesn’t make you want to see it, you’re bonkers because it doesn’t get anymore awesome/ridiculous that that!
In the film, Nic Cage plays a big game hunter who is hired by zoos to capture endangered species. The trailer shows him travelling on a boat with a bunch of his latest captures – including a jaguar and some poisonous snakes – but there’s also a bigger problem - the boat is also transporting a very dangerous political assassin and when he escapes, he also lets all the animals loose. WHUUUT?! Sounds utterly ludicrous but super fun and just the kind of movie Nic does well. Here’s the trailer:
That does look fairly ridiculous but I can’t wait to see it. Sometimes it’s nice to watch a movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The movie is out for UK release sometime around the end of November.
