Dude nearly dies after parasitic worm swims up his penis & lays eggs
As a kid I used to hear the story of a parasite that is able to swim up your stream of piss and enter your cock & cause havoc. I thought this was just another bullshit story that kids tell you in the school playground but it turns out it’s 100% true and that it actually happened to some poor bloke on holiday.
32-year-old James Michael, from Kensington, said he was left 'debilitated' and unable to sleep after a parasite attacked his body from the inside out after a ‘dream holiday’ in Africa. James was travelling with friends from Zambia to Zimbabwe when shit went wrong. The group apparently made a five-day stopover in Malawi, where they swam in Lake Malawi, before flying home.
However, unknown to James at the time, he had brought back a rather unpleasant souvenir. He was actually harbouring a bunch of parasitic flatworms called schistosomes that had crawled inside his penis and laid eggs in his vital organs. Vom! Here’s what James has to say:

Weirdly, it took over a year before James noticed something was wrong. It started with a loss of feeling in his legs, where Neurologists put it down to his immune system attacking his spine, and put him on a six-month course of steroids. It wasn’t until Ddoctors from the Hospital for Tropical Diseases stepped in that James got his correct diagnosis - he had contracted schistosomiasis.
James was proscribed medication to kill the worms but he wasn’t out of the woods yet. James said:
That killed the infection but I was left basically debilitated. They told me there was a 30 per cent chance I'd make a full recovery - 10 years from now! It was a horrible feeling - I felt completely helpless, and the odds weren't good. I couldn't wish what I've been through on anybody.
James spent the first three months in hospital using a wheelchair which eventually progressed to a cane at home. He’s also had a serious breakout of back acne caused by steroids, as well as diarrhoea. Damn! Poor guy. Who’d have thought some pesky penis worms would cause so much damage. I guess I won’t be swimming in the Malawi river anytime soon!
