Squirrel with a Gun

Squirrel with a gun video game

Over the past ten years, video games have taught us one important lesson: people prefer to play as animals. More specifically, we want to pretend to be obnoxious animals so we can get away with doing all kinds of things that real people would find repugnant.

Fortunately, independent game creators have been taking note of the popularity of earlier titles like Goat Simulator and Untitled Goose Game.

Assignment recognised. I'm confident in that statement, and I'll soon explain why.

What else would you anticipate from a game with the name Squirrel with a Gun? It's a squirel, and it's not scared to wield its human-sized pistol.

In the full trailer available on Steam, you can see the squirrel being pursued by government officers, sprinting away with a phone it just stole from someone, and pulling off ridiculous platforming feats while using the recoil from its rifle.

Double-O Squirrel on the Run Squirrel with a Gun
There are plenty of Early Access and future releases to get dug into if you can't wait to go completely bonkers since Squirrel with a Gun doesn't have a release date yet.

The Early Access title Wanted Raccoon was created by MAD Sprouts. But this time, it's like Squirrel with a Gun instead. You guessed right. You take on the role of a raccoon whose home was destroyed by deforestation and who is now trying to find his family again and exact revenge on people.

He doesn't get a human-sized gun, but he does have a crossbow and armour that are the right size. Other gameplay elements demonstrated in game trailers include a crafting system, base construction, and general crimes against people.
