Porn Star sued by Dior over over trademarked stage name
The fashion firm Christian Dior Couture is suing a porn star who trademarked the name Gigi Dior. Dior us threatening legal action on the grounds that she is harming their business. Christian Dior Couture, was established in 1946 and is now run and directed by French businessman, Bernard Arnault.
The 40-year-old MILF pornstar, Gigi Dior, applied to trademark her name last year and gad her request accepted on 20th September, 2022. The adult star has appeared in 7 porn films to date and appears on multiple cam platforms where she puts on nude / topless shows as well as private shows involving toys, dildos, solo masturbation and lesbian action. She was recently nominated for ‘Milf of the year’ by the Cam Awards and is proud of her accomplishments in the XXX industry. Here’s what she told Page Six:
I trademarked my stage name for entertainment and modeling purposes, I had to show proof of what I was using the name for, so I used appearances at exotica, and a website for confirmation... My request was granted. A couple of weeks ago, on Oct. 18th, I received notice from Christian Dior Couture that they were appealing my trademark approval and they claim that the name Dior is being diluted and that I am diluting their products.
Dior listed it’s opposition to Gigi’s trademark, which include 'priority and likelihood of confusion, dilution by blurring and dilution by tarnishment'. Gigi now has until mid November to present a written response or risk having her trademark overturned.
The star currently has thousands of branded T-shirts, signs and photographs in a warehouse with her trademarked name and website so to lose her trademark would be devastating to her. Let’s hope Dior will leave Gigi to it and let her carry on as normal. Let’s face it, I don’t think some rich housewife will stumble upon Gigi’s website and wonder why they can’t find the autumn bag in taupe. I’m sure Christian Dior’s brand is safe regardless.
